people, places and activities in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.

Association of America. The HLAA Rochester, NY Chapter has an Annual Scholarship program for graduating High School
seniors who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We learn more about the organization and find out how it is helping people in the
community. HLAA is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland and was founded by Howard E. "Rocky" Stone in 1979. HLAA
has chapters all across the county. The Rochester Chapter is one of the most active. We get an inside view of the organization
from Sue Miller one of the founders of the Rochester Chapter as well as see and hear from the students who get scholarships.
